I attended the Instructor training at SkillBase. I thought the training was second to none. The instructors were very knowledgeable and experienced in First Aid. They made you feel at ease, and comfortable to ask questions. The practical aspects of the course were fun, which made the content e...
Learn how to teach First Aid with confidence.
Our 3-Day Principles and Practice First Aid Instructor Course / Train the Trainer Course.
If you are looking to become a first aid instructor to train independently or for your workplace, this is the ideal course for you.
You don’t need to have previous experience of teaching first aid, as this course will give you all the skills you need to teach a range of lively and engaging courses.
We find that embarking on training a new subject (or a familiar subject in a new way) can sometimes be daunting. This course is all about confidence building and ensuring that you feel comfortable to train a range of courses.
Not just a room full of other First Aid Trainers
We run our first aid instructor courses a little differently, as they have been designed all around confidence.
On the first day you will join a small group of other trainee first aid instructors. One of our experienced first aid trainers will run a relaxed and friendly workshop for you.
You’ll get to see a range of training skills and techniques, and have an informal practice to make sure you’re comfortable.
Giving you a real course experience
After the first group session, the group work individually for the next month, giving you time and space to absorb the information.
On your second day (which is arranged to suit at some point throughout that month), you will individually join a live First Aid Course.
This is a fantastic opportunity to see how the theoretical elements of your first-day work.
With full support and guidance, you will lead a couple of sections (which will be pre-prepared).
There is massive value to seeing how a real group interact, work together (or sometimes not!) and how the experienced instructor works with the group to make sure they leave as the best first aiders they can.
Keeping you compliant & above board
Coming back to the group on the third and final day of the course, you will again have the opportunity to practice your training in a safe environment.
Our Trainer Network Manager will guide you through more tips and pointers, and fully discuss the options available to you to keep your training compliant, and make sure you know everything you need to know about the many rules and regulations set out by the relevant authorities.
You’ll also have the opportunity to join our National First Aid Instructor Network for ongoing support – and the best bit – it’s free! Read all about it here.
