We’ve reshaped this entire process to be more flexible, accessible, and to better serve you. The annual observation is a mandatory requirement to stay compliant as a first aid trainer under HSE guidelines
Below you can book onto one of our in-person sessions. If you’re looking for a more flexible option, you can find out more about our Virtual Observations.
You only need to complete one of the options to renew your licence.
Option 1: Attend an In-Person ‘Refresh & Recharge’ Day
This is the perfect option if you value face-to-face connection, sharing ideas with your peers, and hands-on professional development. These free sessions are your annual CPD opportunity, supercharged to boost instructor confidence.
Led by a SkillBase First Aid Master Trainer, you will work with a small group of other instructors, present small course sections to each other, and have the opportunity to offer constructive feedback, tips, and ideas.

Option 2: Looking for More Flexibility? Try a Virtual Observation
If you can’t make an in-person date or your circumstances have changed, our new Virtual Observation option is an ideal and convenient alternative.
This pathway allows you to complete your observation by submitting a 15-minute video recording of you delivering part of any SkillBase First Aid course you’re licensed to teach.
