…Would you be able to find it?

If it was the middle of the night and you were waiting for the emergency services to arrive, how easily would they find you?
How clearly signed is your house?
Is there even a sign with your house name or number visible?

We all have a love/hate relationship with our sat navs, and for your local ambulance team, it’s no different. With the darker nights arriving, ambulance crews across the UK are appealing for businesses and homes to be well signed and clearly identified from the road.

A house number next to your door may look lovely but if it’s down a long drive it may be useless. A sign on the gate may look great in the daylight – but how clear is it in the dark?

The following practical steps will help Ambulance drivers identify your house:
  • Check your house name or number is visible from the road
  • Consider using a reflective sign that will be easily picked up by headlights, and is clearly visible from the main road to help your local ambulance crew
  • Make sure there are no trees or bushes obstructing the sign
  • If possible and practical, use an outside light. LED & solar lights are energy efficient

As a result of doing something as small as marking your house, just being visible could prove invaluable in any life-threatening moment.

Why not make a small change today?
