Episode Two: Workplace Stress

Julian explains that everyone is largely responsible for their relationship with stress. Things like your lifestyle, choice of behaviour and your responses to life and people contribute towards it. If you are finding yourself constantly stressed at work, you need to start at the centre of the problem. Assess yourself first. Could there be other factors affecting your work?

Next Steps

If you’ve already done this, the next step is to talk to your manager and relay how you are feeling. This can be really hard to do and people are often in fear of looking incapable of work, and worry how they will be perceived by their superiors. Most employers will be empathetic and make reasonable adjustments in order to support you through a tough time. If your manager is unsympathetic, you may want to consider finding someone else to talk to within the company.
